Calsac’s Les Revenants is undoubtedly one of the most interesting bottles coming out of Champagne today. Upon completing his oenology studies nearly 15 years ago, Etienne replanted a handful of rows to Champagne's less popular varieties—including Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, and Arbanne—in a small vineyard in the Côte de Sézanne. The first vintage of this unique blend was produced in 2016 and spent six months in barrel / 24 months on the lees under cork prior to disgorgement. This special bottle speaks to the lesser-known side of Champagne and pays homage to the viticultural history of the region and is truly one of the Champagne’s most artisanal, one-of-a-kind bottlings.
